"Galen threaded through people toward the back corner. Some pats on the back and nods of acknowledgement were given to him along the way from acquaintances, co-workers and friends. He noticed a table with a half-full tumbler sitting on it and picked up the glass. The rim was imprinted with rose lipstick and he studied the print. It was her lipstick. Her lips were here. He pressed the rim onto his bottom lip and closed his eyes. A rush came right through him and he knew she was close by; his heart pounded and his skin prickled in anticipation."
